PuTTY

PuTTY is a free (MIT-licensed) Win32 Telnet and SSH client.

Accessing the SC4 Linux servers from OFF campus requires a Secured SHell (SSH) connection. Since Windows Telnet does NOT provide a secure connection, the PuTTY software package has been recommended. PuTTY is small, easy to use and free. PuTTY can be used from on-campus as well, and its use is encouraged.

For questions regarding the use of PuTTY, see your CIS course instructor.
