XHTML Project

Guidelines

The purpose of this project is to utilize all of the web development skills developed thus far in CIS 205 to create a web site. This web site must be 'hand-coded' in XHTML and CSS from scratch using a text editor (NOTE: It doesn't have to be Notepad, but cannot be a WYSIWYG development tool like DreamWeaver, Kompozer, Expression or FrontPage)

Be Creative!

• The design and format of the pages in the web site is up to the developer, but should highlight proper usage of XHTML and CSS features.
• Subject matter and content is also up to the developer but MUST meet the guidelines for an E10+ rating
   (see http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.jsp for details)

A specific grading breakdown will be handed out in class, but in general the web site for this project should contain:

• Design Documentation: Purpose/Goals, audience analysis, storyboard
• At least 4 pages with proper navigation
• Links to additional related resources
• An external style sheet, including generic and tag level classes
• A table with at least 20 cells
• Ordered and unordered lists
• No less than 5 images (obtained legally and properly documented)
• At least one "multimedia" component
• Content that qualifies for a E10+ rating
